abstract

In this work, it was made an investigation into the difficulties of learning to read in English that the sixth grade students of nueva Granada high school perform, for this, it was based on the description of the practice of reading in English of the children and the practice of teaching reading in English developed by the English teacher of that institution.

Among the topics discussed is the foreign language learning, a second theme is the reading process, a third topic is related to learning difficulties, and the final theme is based on the English reading difficulties.

an english reading diagnostic test, interviews and surveys were made about people involved in the process such as: students, teachers, all provided important information for the development research
